This summer, Liberace fans young and old got their chance to understand the secret life of the glorious entertainer in the HBO biopic “Behind the Candelabra.” The movie was a bold yet fascinating look at the life of the talented pianist: while so much of his private life was kept from his fans, there’s no denying that this musical prodigy was not hesitant in showcasing quite an extravagant and opulent life.
And now fans will be able to see pieces of Liberace’s life up close. If you’re going to be in Las Vegas for the New Year, then you definitely need to stop by the pop-up exhibit showing at the Cosmopolitan Hotel.
“Too Much of a Good Thing is Wonderful: Liberace and the Art of Costume” features many of Liberace’s prized possessions, including his fox fur coat with a 15 foot train, as well as his rhinestone-encrusted bow ties and jumpsuits. His famous piano and candelabras will also be on display — definite must-sees!!
The exhibit is free to the public, and will be open from 3 pm to 10 pm through January 2nd. Donations made will benefit the Liberace Foundation, which helps students in Southern Nevada interested in exploring the creative and performing arts.
